Stone Soup – A Gardener’s Guide to Soil

Registration is closed for this event
A conversation about soils: What we used to know about the world beneath our feet.

A conversation about soils: What we used to know about the world beneath our feet.

Exploring the forces described by folk wisdom and at work in our own gardens, our conversation will explain some of the greatest mysteries of the substance we all depend on. We'll touch on soil formation, indicator plants, folk wisdom, the soil ecosystem, and basic soil management strategies for garden soil. Feel free to bring your soil test results if you have them.

Participants will leave with an understanding of what a soil test actually MEANS, and how to make our own careful observations to build a thriving, living soil.

About the instructor:

He is currently hard at work pioneering organic hydroponics and urban soil conservation, and is a garden and agriculture educator with a taste for the joy and the daring of growing and foraging food.
