Come spend time in our Summer Kitchen and learn some new cooking skills just in time to put them to use for the holidays to come.

In this hands-on class, you will learn the sous vide method of cooking, practice new knife skills, and how to make wonderful savory pies. You'll leave with your finished pot-pie to share your success with your friends and family. 

Turkey leftovers are the best. Participants will discover how to create luscious turkey pot pies and sous vide turnips in roasted garlic. The sous vide method of cooking takes frozen vegetables and a special method for heating them in minutes resulting in veggies ready to serve at the perfect temperature, consistency, and expected outcome every time. The meal will be completed with a simple apple relish/chutney. Each participant will be able to take home their pot pie.

Once you know how to apply these cooking skills, you can reduce your preparation time for meals, especially those holiday meals. Join us to learn, share stories, eat and have a good time. There will be snacks and beverages. Feel free to bring your own adult beverage or otherwise to enjoy or share if you prefer.

Class size is limited to ten, so register early. 

About the instructor:
Liza Naylor grew up in an international home, eating and learning to cook foods from around the world. This instilled in her a passion for global cuisine: unique ingredients, spices, flavors, and textures.  A certified personal chef, Liza expresses her joy of cooking while meeting the goals of healthy everyday eating and using fresh, local ingredients. She has cooked for York's Farm to City Dinner, the Healthy World Café, and Leg Up Farmers Market. She now shares her talents by leading cooking classes around the region.  Liza believes in the value of community volunteering:  she organizes the York County Food Alliance's "Squash Hunger" and heads the kitchen for Leg Up Farm's "Farm en Blanc".
