Intro to Permaculture

Registration is closed for this event
What is Permaculture? Some people hear the word Permaculture and think of organic gardening, sustainable living, homesteading, working hands-on with the land, and understanding how we are part of the natural world.   Permaculture is much broader than these techniques.

Permaculture is a design practice that calls for deep observation, understanding relationships, and identifying goals. Learning to model our designs on the interconnectedness of healthy ecosystems allows us to meet our needs and those of future generations while respecting and caring for the Earth--our home.

This six hour class will provide you with a foundational understanding of what permaculture is (and isn't) - including the history, ethics, and principles. We'll do some hands-on design exercises that will provide you with a much more rounded understanding of yourself as a designer and how to design for your own home and work spaces. Come prepared to interact, be creative, and spend time indoors and out.

There will be a lunch break during the day - please bring your own lunch.
