Bread Baking 201: Feb 21st

Registration is closed for this event
Bread Baking 201!

We'll cover whole wheat bread, rye bread and sourdough breads.  Attendees will get a sample of sourdough starter and will prepare a dough to take home.  Techniques for working with other grains will be covered.  Instructions for making and keeping starter alive will also be shared.  Bread baking experience not necessary.  Come and join in discussions with other attendees about your experiences as a bread baker and learn new or old tricks for making delicious bread at home.  Also taste bread baked in a wood fired brick squirrel tail oven.  Class will be held in the newly renovated Summer Kitchen at the Horn Farm Center.

Class will be led by Ellen Gibb and Gary Jones. Ellen is a Horn Farm Center Board Member and Gary is a former Board Members - both are long-time volunteers and the driving force behind our Squirrel Tail Oven and Summer Kitchen revitalization project.

Fee includes all baking supplies and take-home materials. Please wear closed toe shoes, tie hair back or wear a hat, and bring an apron if you have one.
