About t he Instructor: Andrew Leahy

Andrew is an avid forager and student of wild spaces\, interested in rekindling ways of liv ing on the landscape that are place-sourced and mu tually nuturing. Moving to the Lower Susquehanna R egion from the mountains of Northeastern PA in 202 1\, he currently serves as the Educational & Outre ach Speciaist for the Horn Farm Center.
\n \n < p>With an academic background in English literatur e and music composition\, Andrew has since embrace d ecological learning and lifelong wildcrafting\, fostering his skills through the Horn Farm’s training programs and the Northern Appalachia School’s Foundations of Bioregional Herbalism pro gram. In addition to leading monthly foraging walk s and special topics courses\, Andrew co-teaches t he Horn Farm’s 10-week Forager Training Progr am.\n \nBeyond the Horn Farm\, Andrew enjoys hiking\, biking\, gardening\, locavorous co oking\, and bioregional living. He leads a book c lub for the Lancaster Composting Co-Ops\, voluntee rs as a land steward with the Lancaster Conservanc y\, and spends Saturdays selling produce at Green Circle Organics in Lancaster Central Market.

Foraging in the mid-fal l is an interplay: enduring abundance meets a quie ting landscape. It's truly a time to give thanks\, gather with gratitude\, and savor the less conspi cuous side of nature's bounty. \n \n \n \n Whether you are interested in wild foods\, local plants a nd ecology\, or alternative uses for plants throug h wildcrafting and medicine\, you're invited to jo in our Mid-Fall Forging Walk\, taking place Sunday \, November 1st from 10am to 12pm.\n \n \n \n Alon g the way\, we will spend time paying tribute to o ur long shared history with plants\, looking beyon d the question of "what can I eat?" on the landsca pe.
