  <h1>As plants recline into winter dormancy\, thei
 r energy moves below the surface.</h1>\n \n <p>So 
 too do the activities of cold-season gatherers\, t
 racing the flow of energy into the roots\, stems\,
  and "interior" parts of plants. Like the stillnes
 s of the landscape on the threshold of winter\, wi
 ld foods and medicines are less conspicuous\; and 
 yet abundance persists\, well-suited for our winte
 rtime needs. It's a time to slow down--to mirror t
 he quiet of the season--and to tend wild spaces in
  gratitude for their gifts. </p>\n \n <p>Whether y
 ou are interested in wild foods\, local plants and
  ecology\, or alternative uses for plants through 
 wildcrafting and medicine\, you're invited to join
  our <strong>Late Fall Forging Walk</strong>\, tak
 ing place <strong>Sunday\, December 6th </strong>f
 rom <strong>1:30pm to 3:30pm</strong>.</p>\n \n <p
 >Along the way\, we will spend time paying tribute
  to our long shared history with plants\, looking 
 beyond the question of "what can I eat?" on the la
 ndscape. We will also emphasize ethical foraging a
 nd ways of giving back to the land from which we’r
 e taking–reinforcing how thinking like an ecosyste
 m should guide the practice of gathering wild food
 s.</p>\n \n <p><em>Beginners and experienced forag
 ers are welcome. </em></p>\n \n <hr />\n <h1><span
  style="line-height:1.38\;">Program Notes:</span><
 /h1>\n \n <h2>Environment: </h2>\n \n <p>This clas
 s will take place outdoors\, <strong>rain or shine
 </strong>\, along walking trails in meadow and woo
 dland ecosystems at the Horn Farm. Please check th
 e weather in advance and dress accordingly.</p>\n 
 \n <h2>Accessibility:<strong> </strong></h2>\n \n 
 <p>This program will involve walking on uneven\, h
 illy terrain. Be prepared for varied and potential
 ly muddy or snowy conditions. Walking pace is leis
 urely with frequent stops for discussion. </p>\n \
 n <h2>Arrival: </h2>\n \n <p>Parking takes place i
 n the field above the farmhouse. <em>Plan to arriv
 e 10 minutes early so we can begin the class on ti
 me. </em>More details about parking will be commun
 icated in a reminder email days before the program
 . </p>\n \n <h2>Audience: </h2>\n \n <p>While this
  class is suited for adult learning\, <strong>chil
 dren are welcome and encouraged to attend</strong>
 . Any child above 13 must be registered separately
 . Children 12 and younger may attend without charg
 e\, but must be accompanied by a registering adult
 .</p>\n \n <h2>Cost: </h2>\n \n <p>The standard co
 st for this program is $25/person. Sliding scale o
 ptions are available to support accessibility.</p>
 \n \n <h2>Service Animals & Pets: </h2>\n \n <p>Se
 rvice animals\, active and in-training\, are permi
 tted. All other animals and pets must remain at ho
 me. The Horn Farm is a working farm with sensitive
  restoration areas\, so we only allow animals in c

 ds enthusiast and educator\, avid gardener\, forme
 r farmer\, and has served the Horn Farm Center in 
 varying capacities for over 15 years. He currently
  serves as Farm and Agroforestry Manager. Jonathan
  received his Permaculture Design Certification in
  2011 from Susquehanna Permaculture and in 2014 co
 mpleted his Permaculture Teacher Training through 
 Dynamic Ecological Design. He is married with 2 ki
