 own and foraged in the Lower Susquehanna Riverland

 at the Horn Farm\, we'll uncover many of the uniqu
 e local foods and medicines available to us this t
 ime of year -- everything from wild edible "weeds"
  to agroforestry crops like elderberry and hazelnu
 ts. We'll bring special attention to the Horn Farm
 's pawpaw orchard and wild plantings\, sharing som
 e of the history\, ecology\, and lore surrounding 
 this legendary native fruit -- the largest in Nort
 h America! </p>\n \n <p>After the walk\, we'll enj
 oy seasonal samplings from the land\, with a varie
 ty of small dishes and hors d'oeuvres featuring pa
 wpaw and other wild & uncommon ingredients. Don't

 t: </h2>\n \n <p>This class will take place primar
 ily outdoors\, <strong>rain or shine</strong>\, al
 ong walking trails in meadow and woodland ecosyste
 ms at the Horn Farm. Please check the weather in a
 dvance and dress accordingly. Sturdy walking shoes
  and seasonal protection (sunscreen\, hat\, gentle
  bug spray/balm\, etc.) is encouraged.</p>\n \n <h
 2>Accessibility:<strong> </strong></h2>\n \n <p>Th
 is program will involve walking on uneven\, hilly 
 terrain. Be prepared for varied and potentially mu
 ddy conditions. Walking pace is leisurely with fre
 quent stops for discussion. </p>\n \n <h2>Arrival:
  </h2>\n \n <p>Park in the field above the farmhou
 se. <em>Plan to arrive 10 minutes early so we can 
 begin the class on time. </em>We will begin the pr
 ogram by meeting in the farmhouse.</p>\n \n <h2>Au
 dience: </h2>\n \n <p>While this class is suited f
 or adult learning\, children are welcome to attend
 . Any child above 13 must be registered separately
 . Children 12 and younger may attend without charg
 e\, but must be accompanied by a registering adult

 . Cost includes a ~1.5 hour walking tour followed

 wild foods enthusiast and educator\, avid gardener
 \, former farmer and has served the Horn Farm Cent
 er in varying capacities for over 15 years. He cur
 rently serves as Land Manager & Educator. Jonathan
  received his Permaculture Design Certification in
  2011 from Susquehanna Permaculture and in 2014 co
 mpleted his Permaculture Teacher Training through 
 Dynamic Ecological Design. He is married with 2 ki
