SUMMARY:Women's Foraging and Herbal Self Care Mini Retreat

 /p>\n \n <p>Join Calyx of Northern Appalachia Scho
 ol for a full day mini-retreat! We will spend the 
 day deepening our relationship with our bodies and
  local medicinal plants\, learning how to weave th
 em into daily life for restoration\, healing\, and
  rematriation. This retreat combines Calyx’s popul
 ar women’s foraging class with a full afternoon of
  herbal medicine and holistic self care. <br />\n 
 <br />\n In the morning we will cover the essentia
 ls of foraging including plant identification\, te
 rminology\, safety\, medicinal and edible uses of 
 plants\, and honoring the land through harvest. We
 ’ll meet various plants on a short hike and practi
 ce nature observation skills.<br />\n <br />\n In 
 the afternoon\, we will explore herbal preparation
 s for the nervous system. We will turn on our sens
 es and tap into somatic awareness while tasting a 
 number of herbal preparations. We’ll sip tea while
  discussing stress management\, self care practice
 s\, and community care. Finally\, participants wil
 l be guided through a grounding relaxation meditat
 ion and breathwork.<br />\n <br />\n A lunch with 
 farm-to-table and foraged ingredients will be prov
 ided. Vegetarian and gluten-free options will be p

 mother of two. She was born and raised in the moun
 tains of central Pennsylvania. She sees the human 
 body as an ecological microcosm\, and that by reco
 nnecting to the land we can heal the land as well 
 as ourselves. In her practice\, she integrates the
  long\, rich history of traditional herbalism with
  modern\, scientifically sound research. Calyx is 
 a graduate of the Colorado School of Clinical Herb
 alism and is the founding director of the Northern
