Restorative Fascial Stretching Yoga

Registration is closed for this event
Join us at the farm for Wellness Wednesdays! Once a month we will host a class featuring different types of yoga in collaboration with Firefly Wellness Center.

Fascia is a connective tissue that forms a continuous web-like structure inside of us, surrounding and interpenetrating muscles, bones, organs, nerves, and even blood vessels, from the top of our head right down to our toenails. In fact, fascia is what forms our bodies, helps us to stand up straight, and pretty much gives us movement or lack of movement. Stretching the fascia consistently helps to gently release 'knots' in our bodies, allow more flexibility, facilitate good posture, and even help calm the nervous system.

Benefits of Restorative Fascia:

  • Increased flexibility
  • Better quality sleep
  • Increased Range of Motion
  • Reduced pain
  • Improved posture
  • Decreased compression of joints
  • Improved energy

Class is broken down into 3 parts:

  1. Activate - we will warm up our muscles (which warms up the fascia) by doing some myofascial release techniques along with active stretching of the entire body
  2.  Relax and Restore - while on the ground, we will use bolsters and other equipment to relax into 4-5 stretches, holding each stretch for 3 -5 minutes, focusing on breath work, allowing the fascia to relax into a stretch
  3. Reform - we will gently wake up our muscles allowing the fascia to slowly reform to a new restored form.

About the Instructor: Jennee Taylor

Jennifer graduated from the Cortiva Institute for Massage Therapy in 2022. After years of exploring her love of anatomy and physiology as a fitness instructor she experienced the physical, mental and emotional benefits of therapeutic massage and started her journey to become a Licensed Massage Therapist herself.

She specializes in therapeutic massage for pain relief, sports massage, active isolated stretching and relaxation massage to aid in the lessening of stress, anxiety and sleep difficulties. Jennifer finds the relief and “massage afterglow” she facilitates for her clients to be extremely rewarding. On her days off, she loves spending time with her pets.

Her passion in offering Fascial Stretch classes is to educate and empower her clients in understanding how their fascial relates to pain, mobility issues, and more.  Her goal is to support her clients in increasing their range of motion, decreasing pain, and avoiding any future injuries with fascial stretch classes.
