The holidays are fast approaching! And along with them all the sweets and treats that are oh-so tempting. What’s a gluten-free foodie to do? Learn to make your own gluten-free desserts to enjoy! And even if you are able to eat gluten, wouldn’t it be cool to create delicious homemade baked goods that you can use as gifts or take to parties without worrying about others’ diet preferences or allergies?
Not sure how? Then join us as we bake up a storm in the summer kitchen at the Horn Farm for Part II of Gluten Free Desserts where you will be guided in the creation of some tasty gluten-free treats while you learn:
- How to make a gluten-free version of sweet breads, such as apple, banana, zucchini, etc.
- How to make a healthier version of no-bake cookies when you just can’t fit one more thing in the oven!
- How to make easy and delicious gluten-free cookies from scratch (because what homemade gift for friends, family, or Santa is complete without freshly baked cookies?)
- Tips and tricks for gluten-free baking.
Want to know more? Then sign up for Gluten Free Desserts Part I and Part III as well! Once you get the basics down, you'll be baking and creating gluten-free desserts at home on the regular. Not only so much better than store-bought but cheaper and without all the preservatives found in grocery store desserts! All products created and baked during class will be gluten-free and vegan, not to mention pleasing to any palette.
By the end of the session, you will go home with your own freshly baked and created gluten-free goodies plus recipes that you can use as you continue at home. Warning: Eating all your goodies made during class may occur! Classes fill up fast so don’t wait! Sign up today!
Please note: This class is appropriate for anyone with gluten sensitivities, but anyone with celiac disease should be mindful and aware that the Horn Farm summer kitchen is not a gluten-free facility.
For all classes: please wear closed-toe shoes, tie hair back or wear a hat, and bring an apron if you have one. Space is limited due to the small size of our kitchen, so register today while spots remain!
About the Instructor:
Laura Bair has been creating artisanal and fermented foods for a number of years. Her culinary adventures include fermented vegetables, fermented fruit, vinegar, kombucha, kefir water/milk, vegan yogurt, and vegan “cheese.” She uses fermented and “slow-cooked” foods to add nuances of flavor and taste to her meals, harness the benefits of probiotics to promote healthy gut nutrition, and as a means to preserve food in bulk. She and her husband follow a whole-food plant based diet and reside on a 1-acre food forest/garden/orchard located between Hallam and Wrightsville. Laura’s nutrition and culinary certificates include: a Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate from T.
