Join Calyx of the Northern Appalachia School for a full-day mini-retreat!
Spend the day learning about local plants and how to incorporate them into our lives for restoration, healing, and rematriation. This retreat combines Calyx’s popular women’s foraging class with a full afternoon of herbal medicine making and holistic self care.
In the morning, we will cover the essentials of foraging, including plant identification, safety, medicinal and edible uses of plants, and honoring the land through harvest.
In the afternoon, we will move to the kitchen to learn about herbal skincare and how to make several different topical applications to facilitate your own home herbal spa. Participants will also get to blend and try out their own herbal skin-care product (clay masks, cold compresses, etc). Then we’ll sip herbal tea while discussing stress management, self-care, and community care. Finally, participants will experience a guided grounding relaxation.
A lunch with farm-to-table and foraged ingredients will be provided to those attending the full day or morning session. Vegetarian and gluten free options will be provided.
