Join Calyx of Northern Appalachia School for a full day mini-retreat! We will spend the day deepening our relationship with our bodies and local medicinal plants, learning how to weave them into daily life for restoration, healing, and rematriation. This retreat combines Calyx’s popular women’s foraging class with a full afternoon of herbal medicine and holistic self care.
In the morning we will cover the essentials of foraging including plant identification, terminology, safety, medicinal and edible uses of plants, and honoring the land through harvest. We’ll meet various plants on a short hike and practice nature observation skills.
In the afternoon, we will explore herbal preparations for the nervous system. We will turn on our senses and tap into somatic awareness while tasting a number of herbal preparations. We’ll sip tea while discussing stress management, self care practices, and community care. Finally, participants will be guided through a grounding relaxation meditation and breathwork.
A lunch with farm-to-table and foraged ingredients will be provided. Vegetarian and gluten-free options will be provided.
