The Keystone Tree Crops Cooperative is helping bring this vision of a regenerative tree nut economy to life!

Join members of KTCC leadership team to learn about Pennsylvania’s growing network of nut producers, gatherers, processors, and advocates. This presentation will cover the current state of the wild and regenerative nut market, KTCC’s progress in fostering long-term local nut production, and some of the key species driving their work. Catch a glimpse of yellowbud hickory oil, culinary chestnuts, shagbarks and hazelnuts, and the many ways anyone can get involved!

Audience & Format: 

This program is designed for adult audiences. The presentation will begin shortly after 6PM and conclude between 7 and 7:15PM. Remaining time will be set aside for a live audience Q&A. 

To support community-building, this webinar will be hosted in Zoom's regular meeting format. While cameras may be on or off, note that other audience members will be visible in the meeting. 

Cost: 

The Horn Farm Center requests a minimum registration fee of $5 to join this program. Proceeds support the Horn Farm's mission to foster ecological learning through land stewardship, community partnership, and hands-on experiences. If you are able, we encourage you to contribute extra at registration.

Throught the series, the Horn Farm's staff and special guest speakers will dig into regenerative land care practices, exploring ways we can improve ecological health while fostering abundant local landscapes, from small farms to backyards.

About the Presenters

 

Don English

KTCC Administrative Director

Don spent his working career as an economist, social scientist, and program manager for the USDA Forest Service.  He and his wife are transforming their Pennsylvania farm landscape into a blend of pollinator habitat and food forest, including several acres of Rutgers hazelnut varieties.

Ryan Kudasik

KTCC Networking Director

Ryan has his Master’s in Instructional Technology and has created training for many industries.  He has harvested and sold hickory nuts through hickoryNuts.com. He is on the board of the Adams County Farmers Markets in order to help strengthen the local food web. He has his Permaculture Design Certificate from David Holmgren.  He uses his 3.5 acre property in Adams County to help create a regenerative landscape of edible plants. He is working towards an Associates in GIS and mapping.
