Live Stake Work & Learn with Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay

Registration is closed for this event
Learn about live stakes at the Horn Farm Center with a hands-on workshop by the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay.

For restoring biodiversity, the land provides just what we need.

Live stakes are a promising, accessible resource for restoring degraded waterways across our region. In this session, we’ll explore the science of live stakes and how to harvest, store, and use woody stem cuttings for growing new trees and shrubs. We’ll also explore some of the uses, benefits, and characteristics of plants commonly suitable for live staking.

Happening Thursday, March 5th, 4:30PM - 6:00PM ET

About the Presenter:

Rob Frank is a Forests Projects Manager with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay working out of the Lancaster office. He helps implement forest plantings and coordinates with volunteer efforts to plant and maintain forest areas. Another of his duties is facilitating the Riparian Rangers program which helps to increase successful buffer establishment. Prior to joining the Alliance, Rob worked in watershed conservation, water quality monitoring, and volunteer restoration projects.

When Rob isn’t planting trees, he’s spending time with his family. He’s always finding things like bugs, mushrooms, skeletons, and four-leaf clovers.
