Petal Play: A Kids’ Flower Arranging Experience

Children can learn the basics of floral design and take home their own floral arrangement in a mason jar.

Explore creativity, nature, and kindness with your child through the art of flowers!

This hands-on workshop is designed for kids (ages 7+) and a participating guardian to learn and create together. We’ll begin with a fun and engaging read-aloud story that highlights how flowers can brighten someone’s day and spread joy throughout a community. After the story, children will be introduced to the basics of floral design in a simple, approachable way.

Together, we’ll cover:

  • How to harvest flowers and greenery
  • Tips for preparing fresh-cut stems
  • Basic design principles to create a balanced, floral arrangement
  • Creative expression through color, texture, and shape

With guidance, each child will then create their own floral arrangement in a mason jar to take home or gift to someone special. This workshop is a wonderful opportunity to slow down, connect with nature, and share a memorable creative experience together.

All materials, including fresh flowers, greenery, and mason jars, will be provided.

A guardian must be present for the duration of the class.
