Women’s Intro to Foraging

A class for women, led by a woman. An evening of rematriation through kinship with the plants; a return to the skills and ancestral knowledge of Mother Earth. We will discuss the essentials of foraging including plant identification, terminology, safety, medicinal and edible uses of plants, honoring the land through harvest, as well as the history of women’s interaction with the land.

Please dress appropriately for the outdoors and off trail walking. A pencil and notebook is recommended. No children please (babies in arms welcome). 50% off for BIPOC women.

 


   

About the Instructor

Calyx Liddick

Calyx is a certified clinical herbalist and nutritionist, field botanist, wildcrafter, activist, writer, and mother of two. She was born and raised in the mountains of central Pennsylvania. She sees the human body as an ecological microcosm, and that by reconnecting to the land we can heal the land as well as ourselves. In her practice, she integrates the long, rich history of traditional herbalism with modern scientifically sound research. Calyx is a graduate of the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism and is the founding director of the Northern Appalachia School. Find out more at northernappalachiaschool.com.

*All payments for single day classes & workshops are non-refundable. Canceled registrations or no-shows will be considered donations unless Horn Farm Center cancels the program. Thank you for supporting regenerative farming and educational programs at the Horn Farm Center.
