While we will be raising funds throughout the day online, we invite our supporters to visit the Horn Farm Center from 11am-4pm for an open house and tree planting event.
During the event, 2 farm tours will be offered at 11:30am and 1:30pm. Visitors are invited to get their hands dirty by planting trees for our new 6 acre multifuctional riparian buffer.
Help us reach our goal to plant 10,000 trees on the farm this spring - which will sequester atmospheric carbon and protect the health of our waterways.
Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the farm.
Volunteer activities will include: moving, hauling and spreading leaves; moving, hauling and spreading wood mulch; digging using a broadfork; as well as planting trees - digging planting holes, moving supplies and water, coordinating plantings, ect.
Are you up for the challenge? Let us know you can pitch in!
Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and please bring your own garden gloves.
A note on Covid-19 procedures:
Multiple hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the farm. All tools, equipment and facilities are disinfected regularly to protect the health and safety of our visitors, volunteers, farmers and staff.
Participant expectations are as follows:
Participants are required to bring a mask and wear when proper physical distancing cannot be maintained.
Except in case of family members, physical distancing of 6 feet must be maintained.
Do not attend if sick or recovering.
