We Need 50 Neighbors.

With grocery prices rising, and the stress of modern life, more and more people want to relearn what humans have always known how to do: how to forage, grow and process food.

You already know about the Horn Farm Center, and so you already know what works better than endless Youtube videos from people who don’t even live in your region and climate.

What does work better? Well, how about someone who lives in this same area we do, showing us hands-on how to do the thing, whatever it is, and getting our hands dirty in the process.

Here at the Horn Farm, (which you may not know is on York County land, and the farm itself is a non-profit educational center) that’s exactly what we do. Hands-on education over a wide range of topics, from short two hour classes, to in-depth professional training programs.

We want as many people as possible to be able to regain these necessary skills and knowledge. And it’s not even about growing or foraging on your own 100% of everything you and your family eat. But even a little bit of extra makes a big difference, and is so satisfying!

The thing is, this kind of education can be expensive, when it really shouldn’t be. It should be accessible to anyone and everyone who wants it.

We’re looking for fifty neighbors here in York and Lancaster counties to become sustaining donors.

Sustaining donations, or small contributions that recur monthly or annually, make our finances more dependable, and it helps keep the cost of our education low for you and all of the folks here in York and Lancaster counties (and sometimes beyond).

With an average cost of $20-$30 per class, we’re within reach of nearly anyone who wants to learn. And even our in-depth immersive professional training programs cost much less than similar courses run by for-profit companies.

And, we just opened the new farmhouse as an educational center! Which means a modern, accessible, comfortable learning environment whatever the weather or season.

So, how much are we asking for?

So, ideally we’d love to see 50 new recurring donors at an average of $25/month each. That generates an extra $15,000/year, and as a small nonprofit, that would make a significant impact on our budget.
