Sip, stroll, and savor the seasonal flavors of our wild landscape ... including pawpaw!
The Horn Farm Center invites you to join this exclusive guided walk and tasting experience celebrating Wild & Uncommon foods, all grown and foraged in the Lower Susquehanna Riverlands!
Exploring fields and forest edges at the Horn Farm, we'll uncover many of the unique local foods and medicines available to us this time of year -- everything from wild edible "weeds" to agroforestry crops like elderberry and hazelnuts. We'll bring special attention to the Horn Farm's pawpaw orchard and wild plantings, sharing some of the history, ecology, and lore surrounding this legendary native fruit -- the largest in North America!
After the walk, we'll enjoy seasonal samplings from the land, with a variety of small dishes and hors d'oeuvres featuring pawpaw and other wild & uncommon ingredients. Don't miss this delicious, behind-the-scenes experience of the Horn Farm's educational ecosystem--a perfect way to kick off the Pawpaw Festival!
