Explore the Relationship Between All Living Things
(including humans!)
The Horn Farm Center sits at the heart of the Lower Susquehanna Riverlands: a lush bioregion teeming with life that is both resilient and vulnerable. Diverse ecosystems and dynamic seasons invite us to explore, to wonder, and to rekindle caring partnerships with nature wherever we may be.
Join us to learn more about the beauty and power of local ecosystems and the individuals who create them—including ourselves. Through educational walks and hands-on experiences in the Horn Farm Center’s woodlands, meadows, and “built” ecosystems, regional ecology classes explore the plants and animals who live among us, the broader networks that support life around us, and the skills we can foster for healing degraded landscapes in ways that ask, “what would nature do?”
Life at Work across the Horn Farm Center:

By learning more about the ecology of home and beginning to see the world through a naturalist lens, we can find awe and wonder in the unassuming, and foster a deep commitment to caring for the world we depend on.
We aim to offer a variety of classes serving different age groups and interests. Classes bring together science and historical wisdom, stewardship, and a childlike sense of wonder that goes beyond seeking answers and knowledge alone. Check out our current calendar below:
Upcoming Programs
Walk the Seasons Series
Each season, join us to explore the meadows and forests of the Horn Farm Center. We’ll tune into the rhythms of the natural world to learn about local ecology, natural history, and ways to better understand the landscape around us. Walk the Seasons classes invite all ages and experience levels, so whether you’re an avid naturalist or are just beginning to connect more closely with the outdoors, you are welcome!
These programs are designed with financial accessibility in mind. Registration is “pay what you can” with a $5 minimum donation.
