Open Farm Volunteer Day: October 10, 2026

Help our farm crew with seasonal tasks in the field!

Looking for an opportunity to get outside, break a sweat, and make an impact?

Work alongside our farm team and help shape the Horn Farm's educational ecosystem!

During our monthly open farm workdays, you'll lend a hand in our demonstration field. Tasks will vary based on a few factors--like season, weather, and the number of volunteers--but here's a general sense of what you can expect in the fall and winter:

  • Clearing and winterizing annual garden beds
  • Mulching and maintaining perennial willow and elderberry beds
  • Reclaiming neglected areas and general clean-up
  • INDOOR / POOR WEATHER: husking hazelnuts or sorting willows

If you'd like more details on our plan for a given workday, reach out by emailing education@hornfarmcenter.org. You can also call or text us at (717) 757-6441.

Your support will multiply the efforts of our small, dedicated team. Along the way, you'll learn about agroforestry, regenerative farming, and land restoration while getting a "behind-the-scenes" look at the Horn Farm's learning landscape. You'll also meet other volunteers!

Hands on the land are what we need to sow a regenerative future together.
