What is the Summer Solstice Market?
New for 2025, the Summer Solstice Market is the evolution of the Horn Farm’s Summer Solstice Celebration.
The Horn Farm Center is rooted in close proximity to the Susquehanna River, and prime agricultural farmland. This unique location is rich in abundance – from the wild foods of the forest, to the produce we cultivate in our fields, and far beyond. The onset of the summer season welcomes the longest day of the year, and a bumper crop of delicious, locally-grown vegetables. This market seeks to highlight and share the abundance available to our local community during the dog days of summer.
What’s going on at the market?
Horn Farm Center will be selling produce grown by the hands of our staff and Regenerative Grower Training Program participants. Proceeds from the Horn Farm stand will support local, regenerative farming practices and the educational programming of the Horn Farm Center. We will also have an info booth where you can learn about upcoming classes at the farm, and browse HFC swag and merch.
Other sustainably-minded local growers and producers will be joining us at this event! This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with and support small businesses in our local ecosystem.
Free tours will be lead by Horn Farm staff, highlighting current projects, programs, and happenings in the field and beyond. Come check out what we’ve been up to, and maybe even leave with some new knowledge.
Are tickets required to attend the Summer Solstice Market?
No, there is no ticketed entry – this is a free event!
Is this event wheelchair accessible?
The Horn Farm is a working farm with variable accessibility. Accessible parking will be available at the event. However, many surfaces on site are grass, gravel, unpaved, uneven, and can present difficulty to those with limited mobility. Please plan accordingly.
What are the restroom facilities?
There are no indoor restroom facilities available. Portable toilets with hand sanitizer units will be stationed within short distance of the event.
Is this a family-friendly event?
Yes! Feel free to bring the whole family.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
We welcome you to bring your own food and drink if you wish to enjoy a picnic-style lunch on the grounds. In fact, for this event, we’re encouraging it!
What is your alcohol policy?
The consumption of alcoholic beverages or illegal substances is not permitted at the event. The Summer Solstice Market is a family-friendly event. Anyone consuming alcohol or illegal substances will be asked to leave the premises immediately.
Are dogs allowed at the event?
We encourage you to leave your furry friend/s at home, but service animals are welcome. Because we are a working farm, we need to prioritize the health and safety of the plants we’re growing. No dogs will be permitted in the demo field – on tours or otherwise. We appreciate your consideration!
