Summer Solstice Celebration

Welcome the the longest day of the year with friends and family at the Horn Farm Center!

Join us for a free, family-friendly event as we celebrate the Summer Solstice – part of our special 20th Anniversary offerings.

Hear stories by the campfire, enjoy snacks freshly baked in our Squirrel Tale Oven, tour the farm, enjoy local music, and share a potluck meal with friends of the Horn Farm.

Summer Solstice Schedule of Events:

  • 5:00pm: Event Begins
  • 5:00-7:00pm: Face Painting & Kids Activities
  • 5:30 – 8:00pm:
    • Music by Still Limber
    • Squirrel Tail Oven Cooking Demonstrations in the Summer Kitchen
    • Enjoy a Potluck Meal
  • 6:00pm & 7:00pm: Farm Tours
  • 8:00pm: Dedication of the June & Warren Evans Memorial Garden
  • 8:00pm-9:00pm Bonfire with Storytelling by Jeri Jones (subject to change, weather permitting)
  • 9:00pm Event Closes

Potluck Meal:

A potluck meal will be shared amongst attendees. Everyone is welcome to bring a meal item to share.

  • Potluck contributions are welcome but are NOT REQUIRED to attend.
  • If you are bringing homemade food, please jot down a list of ingredients to include with your potluck item (especially nuts, eggs, soy, wheat, or other common allergens).
  • Please let us know what you plan to bring!
  • Horn Farm Center will provide: hot dogs, pulled pork, sloppy joes, s’mores, ice cream, and a variety of beverages.

Also, to reduce waste and support the health of our environment, we ask that you please bring your own place settings and mugs!


Horn Farm Center’s Summer Solstice Celebration is part of Explore York’s Annual Maker’s Spirit Event, which runs from June 20-22, 2024.
