Warren Evans
We are deeply saddened by the loss one of our heroes. On Monday, Warren Evans passed away peacefully at home encircled by his family. For those of you who are newer to the Horn Farm, Warren and June Evans were key players in rescuing the Horn Farm from industrial development in 2000 and they have served as volunteers and financial supporters of the Horn Farm Center ever since. Both served on the Board of Directors; Warren served as Board president until 2014. We are finding some comfort in the image of him riding the August 21 eclipse into the Universe. Thank you Warren for all that you did to make the Horn Farm Center dream into a reality!
Tomorrow, Saturday, August 26, we are offering something new: PICK YOUR OWN FLOWERS from 9am -11am. We have a wide variety of cut flowers being grown by intern Betsy Dorbian. Add some color to your life and design your own bouquet assortment.
WHEN: Saturday, August 26, 9am-11am.
WHERE: Stop at the Farm Stand in our Corn Barn to get directions.
COST: $10 per jar, $20 per bucket
WHAT TO BRING: Bring your own clippers, gloves if desired, and container (roughly quart jar size, or standard bucket). We may have some extra clippers available if needed.
The sweet corn is here! Just picked, organically grown, non-GMO sweet corn will be for sale at the Horn Farm Farm Stand from 9 to noon this Saturday, August 26. We’ll also have potatoes, green beans, tomatoes, cantaloupe, watermelon, onions, fresh cut flower bouquets, and more!
