Summertime abundance is on its way! Soon the tomatoes, peaches, and apples will be ripe for picking. This year we are offering three opportunities to learn to preserve the harvest by using the water bath canning method. Introduction to Canning: Tomato Sauce, Introduction to Canning: Applesauce,
and Introduction to Canning: Peach Jam.
Canning foods can be an easy way to preserve seasonal produce, support local agriculture, and for you to know what is in the food you are eating. During these hands-on, make-and-take sessions,, you’ll discover the basics of water bath canning and learn to safely preserve delicious foods. All three workshops take place in our historic summer kitchen, so space is limited. Register today!
