Next Saturday: Celebrate with Us!
We have a lot to celebrate this year – especially since we’ve reached 20 years of carrying out our mission – thanks to a generous, creative, and resilient community.
Join us next Saturday, June 22nd from 5PM-9PM for a casual, festive, and family-friendly evening, complete with live music from local folk artists Still Limber, fresh-baked goods from our historic Squirrel Tail Oven, farm tours, a bonfire, kids activities and more.
Of course, our anniversary celebration wouldn’t be complete without community contributions to our potluck meal. Bring your picnic blanket, forks n’ plates, and a meal item to share! Don’t have time to make something? Join us anyway! Potluck contributions are encouraged but not required to attend.
The Summer Solstice Celebration is free to attend but please RVSP.
We hope to see you at the Horn Farm on June 22nd!

Gathering Abundance & Balance
Wild abundance is here throughout the seasons, but we’re particularly fond of this time of year! Mulberries, black raspberries, black cherries, elderflowers, and bundles of wild greens fill our baskets, nourish our bodies, and connect us with the land.Thankfully, we haven’t been alone — we’ve spent the last several weeks fostering a caring community of foragers with our first-ever Forager Training Program. Since May, ten curious foragers have dug deep into the science, craft, and spirit of ethical foraging, experiencing the blossoming transition from early spring to early summer. Next week, we’ll be sending off our foraging trainees with a wild foods meal shared by the class!
Want to learn more about the wild abundance that the land provides? We’ve got numerous foraging opportunities coming down the trail for the summer:
- Fungal Foundations: Spring Mycology Series – June 15th & 22nd
- Historic Wild Foods of the Lower Susquehanna – June 30th
- (part of Riverfest Weekend)
- Bountiful Berries: Early Summer Foraging Walk – July 7, 2024
- Foraging First Aid – July 14th
- Wild Abundance: Mid-Summer Foraging Walk – August 4, 2024
