Horn Farm Happenings – February 22, 2019

Though the changes in temperatures makes it seems that winter and spring are switching back and forth on an almost daily basis, the official start of spring, the vernal equinox, is less than a month away (in the northern hemisphere). From our point of view this the moment in time when the sun is located directly above the equator while crossing from the south to the north. More correctly, it is the moment when the earth’s orbit around the sun is such that this orientation occurs. This year spring arrives at 11:19 p.m.(EST) on March 20. The vernal equinox is one of four days (two equinoxes and two solstices) throughout the year that mark the beginning of a new season. The other days are the summer solstice (beginning of summer), the autumnal equinox (beginning of autumn) and the winter solstice (beginning of winter).

Our Spring Wild Lands Primitive Skills sessions are fast approaching! This will be the only time we offer these classes in 2019.
