We harvested the rhubarb today and the strawberries are beginning to ripen. We will be using both during our Rhubarb Strawberry Chutney workshop on June 1.
The farm crew has been hard at work getting the crops for the CSA planted. In just a few weeks we will begin to hand out shares of fresh produce to our CSA members. We still have a few spaces left in the Horn Farm CSA.
Today we are pleased to welcome 10th graders from York Country Day School. We will be planting potatoes, building raised beds for Betsy’s flower farm, weeding and mulching the gardens around the farmhouse and summer kitchen, and continuing trail building within our woodland restoration project. Many hands make light work!
If you missed our Heirloom Plant Sale, tomorrow, Saturday, May 6th, you can find us at the York County Native Plant Sale at the York County Annex, 112 Pleasant Acres Road, York, 17402–rain or shine, we’ll have a variety of plants–vegetables, herbs, and flowers for sale.
