Horn Farm Weekly Produce Share

This season, as part of our new Internship Program, Horn Farm Center will be offering a limited number of CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) memberships. This will provide a wonderful opportunity for participants of our Internship Program to learn to about succession planting and timing, growing a wide variety of vegetables, harvesting and prepping produce, and connecting directly with the consumer.

Here’s some of what’s happening at the Horn Farm Center for Agricultural Education:

Eagle Scout Candidate Marty Rexroth, Jr. (in black tee shirt) led fellow troop members in the construction of two barn owl nest boxes.

On March 5, Marty and his father, Marty Rexroth, Sr., attached the boxes to the Corn Barn at the Horn Farm. Great job!

In other bird news, the blue birds have returned and the blue bird boxes along the trail are ready for the season.

Brock will be at the Horn Farm every week until the fall to check on the boxes and will keep track of species, eggs, and successful fledgings.

We’ve got two great events coming up this Saturday, February 20th and there is still time to register for both!

Introduction to Permaculture (10am-2pm) Come gain a new understanding of how we can create regenerative systems in all aspects of our lives.

Welcoming the Light! (2:30-4:30) Celebrate the coming spring and learn a new way to make beeswax candles in this wonderful family friendly workshop. More details and registration online!
